Question: My pet is going to be “put down” at the veterinary clinic. What steps should we take to make sure that our pet is taken care of?

Answer:
When a pet is “put to sleep” at a local veterinary clinic, the owner has the option to have the pet taken care of through any pet crematory.  Some veterinary clinics use a local pet crematory, such as Setting Sun Pet Crematory to take care of the private cremation.  On the other hand, some local veterinary clinics have the pets sent out of town or even out of state requiring owners to wait up to a week or longer for the pet to be returned to their veterinary’s office.  Unfortunately, this means that the family will wait much much longer to receive their pet’s ashes back and then they have to go back to the vet’s office to pick up their pet’s ashes.
When using Setting Sun Pet Crematory there is NO long waits and if we pick up your pet, we will return him or her to your HOME not to the vets’ office.
Be sure to ask your veterinarian whether they use Setting Sun Pet Crematory or if they send the pets out of town or state.
We will work with all Veterinary offices, hospitals and Vet Trek. We are available 24 hours a day.

If you use us, you have two options:

1.  You can have your vet call us here at Setting Sun Pet Crematory to make arrangements for us to pick up your pet or you can call us with the information as to where and when you need us to pick up your pet.
2.  If you wish you can bring your pet from your vet’s office or your home to our facility.  Simply call us when you know your appointment information, so we know when to expect you.  *Additional information will be given once you arrive.                                                3. You have to call and set up an appointment.

Question: What is the difference between Setting Sun Pet Crematory and the other crematories?

Answer:  We understand the importance of your pet’s remembrance, knowing that your pet has become a part of your family, a part of your heart and your dearest friend. We promise to give them the love and respect they deserve at this time and to help you as much as we can.

Larger crematoriums can be very busy and hectic taking delivery of several hundred of pets every day from just about every veterinary office throughout this area as well as Md., Va. and Pa.  With us being a family owned & operated business this allows us to handle your unique pet privately and with the individual care that he or she deserves.

With the larger crematories you have a very long wait to have your pet back home but if you choose us there will be no long wait.  In fact, our goal has been and will always be to have your beloved pet back home to you within 24-to-48-hour period.

We promise to handle your pet with the same kindness, love and respect that you yourself have given him or her and promise to handle him or her as if they were one of our own.

Setting Sun Pet Crematory is located in Berkeley County, WV. You will have the peace of mind knowing that your pet will be given a Private Cremation, handle with love and is being taken care of by family owed business who will handle your pet with love, kindness and respect.  The cremation will be done in an efficient and timely manner; we strive to have your cherished pet returned to you within 24 to 48 hours.
